From the start of the season, the roles at team Torreira have been very well defined. Jannic De Keijsere would take lead of the sprinting side, while Angelo Bazán would take point uphill. Both riders have settled quite nicely in the roles given. While on the hill side, there isn't much competition, the sprinting outfit seems to be more competitive from within. Montez Ascencion has been given a chance to lead the ragged on occasion, while Carry Shutts has always been lurking his chances on cobbles and races that the main peloton from division 1 looks away from and the field is suitable for him. But, on occasion he has been given big time honours.
After a formidable second at Norwich-London, he then, he just upped the challenge to his leader by taking an impressive win at Astana GP, where he took point of the team with help from all the sprinters, including Jannic De Keijsere.
While only 2 results don't look like much, given the number of times he was given the leading role, it's just absolutely amazing. In only 3 races he scored money, he has half the prize money Jannic De Keijsere took in 11 races.
Certainly this has been an incredible season for this team, with 30 more days of action to come. These two can keep battling it out amongst themselves, as long as they keep bringing home the bacon.
Well done by the team.
